Since the 19th century, the River Clyde shipyards have been synonymous with grit, determination and hard work. It is this persistence and work ethic that saw Scotland become one of the greatest shipbuilding nations in the world.
We started our business along the iconic river Clyde and drew inspiration from this rich history of triumph over adversity and enduring success in an ever changing world. We felt it was only fitting to name our company after the river, as we share this steadfast resolve and work ethic of the region and the many workers over the years, who have contributed to make it the economic powerhouse it is today.

1900
2017

Using these principles of the River Clyde shipbuilding industry, Clydebuilt was established in 2017. The historic shipyard has demonstrated Scottish quality and craftsmanship. The quality products and customer service Clydebuilt provided, meant we quickly expanded our team from five to over fifty members. We are proud that we have created and maintained a team of like-minded individuals, keen to serve the Scottish marketplace with the same values we started the business.

In 2019, we looked to formally define how we present our services and products for the benefit of our customers. We knew the right man for the job was Paul Gallegher and he was appointed as Sales Director to head up our sales and marketing team.

Having built a strong foundation and successful business, we were fortunate to be in a position to withstand the pressures that arose in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Although these times were challenging for us all, our dedicated team worked hard and tenaciously to continue to grow our business. Our sales goals remained consistently high throughout lockdown and we were determined to come back stronger once this period passed.

By appointing our Finance and Installer Directors Nikki O'Neil and Damien McKenna in May and November respectively, we were heading in the right direction with a conscientious, ethical and forward-thinking senior team. We are delighted to have become ISO9001 accredited in March 2021. This proved a critical turning point as we took control of our own independent fenestration supply chain by May. Offering our industry-leading products to our installers was a massive step forward, and our commitment to quality paid off, as we became REHAU approved soon afterwards. This continued success, allowed us to expand into our Aberdeen sales depot by the end of the month.

Later that year, our outstanding range of products and high-quality service earned us TrustMark and FENSA approval. Our growth in 2021 was exponential and we appointed our talented Production Director Chris McCormick in August. With their professional and adroit oversight, combined with our team's incredible work, we were fabricating 100 frames per week by December 2021. Not a company to sit on our laurels, we became GGF and CHAS approved for our products and services at the start of 2022. By July, we had appointed our astute and knowledgeable Commercial Director Stephen Newgent to continue to drive the company forward. We also upgraded our production equipment with a cutting-edge Stuga ZX5 and Urban SD530, which increased our production to an impressive £8 million turnover by the end of the year.

In 2019, we looked to formally define how we present our services and products for the benefit of our customers. We knew the right man for the job was Paul Gallegher and he was appointed as Sales Director to head up our sales and marketing team.

Looking to The Future

We always strive to operate efficiently and safely and in May 2023, we achieved ISO14001 approval for Environmental Management and ISO45001 approval for Health & Safety Management, accreditations we are extremely proud of. We also aim to support our local community and in July 2023, we were excited to launch our sponsorship with Partick Thistle FC Men and Women Celtic FC Women and wish them every luck on the pitch! While we are proud of everything we have achieved so far as a company and team, we are always looking forward to the future. Beyond 2023, we aim to continue to be a trusted and industry-leading business that meets private and public sector industry needs. With the foundation of our historical principles and the vision of our industrious team, we know Clydebuilt will continue to grow and provide exceptional products and services to our fantastic customers for many years to come.
