You can indulge in the timeless appeal of traditional timber sash windows and benefit from the innovations found in modern uPVC windows. Clydebuilt’s Vertical Slider Windows deliver the best of both worlds, including a dual opening function that adds easy cleaning and further ventilation to the list of benefits.

Tilts and Slides.

From the outside, it’s difficult to determine this modern alternative from the original timber windows, yet the maintenance usually associated with such beautiful features is virtually non-existent with Vertical Slider Windows. With the ability to tilt as well as slide, these windows also offer years of life with little intervention. uPVC construction results in a window that doesn’t rot, swell or warp, while never needing repainting.

Energy efficiency is an ongoing battle with many older properties, with potentially ill-fitting single-glazed windows being a major source of heat loss.

Reduces Noise.

Replacing your traditional timber sash windows with uPVC Vertical Slider Windows virtually eliminates this issue, reducing the money you spend on heating your period home.

They can also reduce the level of exterior noise & draughts that penetrate your home, leaving you to enjoy a peaceful, warm haven. Many period properties are subject to stricter planning regulations, particularly if situated in conservation areas.

uPVC windows are made from a section of frame, which is cut to length & joined together to form the shape of the window. The frames are made by putting molten PVC through a moulding machine, and it comes out the other end in long sections of the frame, which is cooled almost immediately before being cut to length. This makes the frame easy to work with. The window frames are then made into windows & doors that have been cut to the correct size and joined together using heat-based welding. Steel or aluminium lengths are then put inside to give it additional strength if required.
There are a number of ways in which uPVC windows can benefit you & your home. Firstly, The window frames don’t need painting or sealing, which significantly reduces the maintenance required over their lifetime; uPVC windows are low maintenance. A key benefit of uPVC windows is that they don’t rot & are resistant to corrosion; this makes uPVC windows extremely long-lasting; uPVC windows are easily cleaned with soapy water. Unlike metals, uPVC is a non-conductive material, so your window frames will not transfer the heat & contribute to a more consistent internal temperature for your home. Combining uPVC window frames & double glazing makes for a very energy-efficient window. uPVC windows provide excellent acoustic insulation and cut down noise by as much as 70%. Thanks to their integrated locking systems, uPVC windows provide a high level of security for your home. Our uPVC window locking systems lock at multiple points all around the sash & frame. Compared to aluminium & timber alternatives, uPVC windows are low cost. Prices can vary depending on the quality & features of the windows, but you can expect a much more affordable price by choosing a uPVC window.
